Household cleaners can have a direct effect on asthma/allergy symptoms in children

A few years ago, I had a Shaklee table at a family consignment store event and although my main focus was on “Helping Kids Find Their Happy Face”, among the people who stopped to talk to me, there was a woman who had heard of Shaklee and knew they had cleaners. She had already shared with me that her child, about the age of 6, had many health issues, asthma and several allergies being amongst them. She asked about Shaklee’s cleaners because she had heard they were known for being the greenest products on the market and she had also heard about how chemicals in cleaners might have a direct effect on asthma/allergy symptoms in children.

Some of the best advice my mother ever gave me was to establish a bedtime for my kids within just a few weeks of them being born! I know that probably sounds crazy to some people, but it IS possible, it’s so healthy for your child (emotionally and physically) and……. it’s very beneficial to the happiness and emotional stability of you, as parents!

Are your kids suffering from growing pains?

Many kids suffer from growing pains at different times of their development, especially during those growth spurts when they start eating you out of house and home!! Although growing pains are looked at by most people as “normal”….they sure aren’t necessary! When my family and I started taking Shaklee’s nutritional supplements 22 years ago, my kids were about 3 & 7. Years later when they were almost grown, I got into a conversation with a friend who happen to mention how terribly her kids suffered from growing pains or as some people know them, leg pains or muscle cramps, off and on during their childhood. I started asking around and discovered that this is a very common occurrence with kids, and it was then that I realized my kids hadn’t EVER experienced growing pains!

Natural alternative for relief of asthma symptoms!

Years ago I learned magnesium helps open the lungs/airways which in turn can help relieve the breathing problems for asthmatics. About that time, a co-worker of mine mentioned her son, age 10, suffered from asthma symptoms, always needing to use his inhaler upon waking every day and then also numerous times during the day. I shared with her what I had learned about magnesium and she decided to start giving her son Shaklee’s Calcium Magnesium product to see if it could offer any help at all.

Tips to help kids swallow vitamins!

Having been with Shaklee for over 22 years, not only did I experience the task of teaching my own kids how to swallow a vitamin (once they’re past using our chewable multi-vitamin, Incredivites), but I’ve helped other people as well!  It’s amazing how many adults have trouble swallowing a pill, as well! This information should help both kids and adults to swallow a pill! If you think about it, a piece of chewed up meat is much bigger going down, than a pill! 😉

Did you know that the crucial years for people to have a sufficient calcium intake to increase their bone density is from the age of about 9 to 13?! How strong and dense you get your bones during these early years has a huge impact on how dense they will still be when you get into your 60’s and 70’s! But yet so many people, don’t even start worrying about that until they’re in their 40’s. Not that it’s ever too late to start, but why not already be in much better shape when you start taking additional measures to keep/or get your bones stronger.

There are so many articles available on the effects of soda, caffeine, sugar, etc. and with so much information available you would think that parents would believe it, or at least put it to the test, and figure out that the best thing they can do for their kids is not give them soda and limit their daily sugar intake! I’d like to share a few experiences on the subject of soda causing hyperactivity in kids. My only hope is that it will encourage you to do more research and possibly put it to the test in your own family.

Beware….soda CAN be addicting!!

So…..I don’t drink soda at all, other than perhaps a couple sips of my husband’s soda while we’re enjoying popcorn at the theater, but many years ago, I’ll never forget something that happened to me. There was a business luncheon scheduled for a couple days in a row, and strangely enough, I drank the soda that came with the meal (it was a caffeinated one like Coke or Pepsi) on the first day, and then AGAIN on the 2nd day. Up till then I don’t think I had ever had a soda 2 days in a row. The odd thing was, on the 3rd day….I found myself CRAVING a soda! I mean….truly craving it!! I couldn’t believe it….it took just 2 days and I was becoming addicted. I understood that immediately and because I’ve refused to ever be addicted to anything….LOL….I purposely didn’t have a soda that 3rd day.
