Many kids suffer from growing pains at different times of their development, especially during those growth spurts when they start eating you out of house and home!! Although growing pains are looked at by most people as “normal”….they sure aren’t necessary! When my family and I started taking Shaklee’s nutritional supplements 22 years ago, my kids were about 3 & 7. Years later when they were almost grown, I got into a conversation with a friend who happen to mention how terribly her kids suffered from growing pains or as some people know them, leg pains or muscle cramps, off and on during their childhood. I started asking around and discovered that this is a very common occurrence with kids, and it was then that I realized my kids hadn’t EVER experienced growing pains!
After a little research, I figured out why. I had started my children on not only Shaklee’s multi-vitamin, but also their calcium, called Osteomatrix and their Sustained Release Vitamin C at a very early age. They both started on the multi-vitamin, originally Shaklee’s chewable which is now called Incredivites but as soon as they were able to swallow the adult version (about the age of 8 or 9), they started on Vita Lea. And although all of Shaklee’s multi-vitamins contain calcium & Vitamin C, I understood the importance of extra calcium for building bone mass at an early age, along with how great it is at promoting a more restful sleep, so they were taking at least 2 of Shaklee’s calcium, Osteomatrix, per day, and later as teens, 4 a day, always splitting the dose between morning and night. The reason I included the extra Vitamin C was simply for an extra boost of their immune system, although I later learned how your body needs sufficient Vitamin C for better absorption of calcium. Shaklee’s calcium is already the most unique on the market due to it’s formula which consists of just the right amounts of Magnesium, Vita D3 and Zinc, plus an array of other necessary minerals needed for best absorption into the bone. Here’s a great short video explaining more on this amazing product. Please keep in mind….most calcium products on the market are NOT formulated for easy absorption and results, so if you’re using another brand, I suggest you do your due diligence to find out what clinical studies the company has on it proving that their product actually has in it what’s on the label and is proven to be absorbed and give results! Just because a product makes it to a grocery store shelf does not mean it works! For more info on this subject, click here!
So, little did I know at the time, all those great Shaklee supplements I ensured they took every day for general health purposes, were also preventing growing pains! It’s a good feeling knowing they bypassed that whole experience, because I’ve heard it can be VERY painful for most kids! On behalf of my children….”Thank You Shaklee…. for another wonderful and totally unexpected, side-benefit”! (Along with other ones we’ve experienced!)
